While the proposed Florida bear hunt was the focus of a serious discussion on the latest episode of Speaking of Animals, a much smaller guest stole the show—Marshmallow, a long-haired white hamster from the Flagler Humane Society.

Host Amy Carotenuto joked that while bringing a bear into the studio wasn’t an option, Marshmallow was there to “stand in” as a cuddly reminder of the animals at the core of the conversation.

Described as gentle, social, and used to children, Marshmallow is currently looking for a forever home. Her sweet demeanor brought a light-hearted moment to an episode otherwise focused on the proposed black bear hunt and broader wildlife issues.

The Flagler Humane Society is open seven days a week. Potential pet parents are welcome to meet Marshmallow and other animals waiting for forever homes.
