The Disaster Emergency Animal Shelter has been held the past few disasters in the gym at Bunnell Elementary. The owners stay in general population while their pet is placed in an area with Flagler Humane Society employees and volunteers watching over them.

There are allotted visiting hours where owners will come and care for their pets. They will be expected to walk, clean and feed their respective pets. Owners should be prepared to provide caging, bedding, toys, cleaning supplies and food for their pets. Minimal supplies will be on hand for any forgotten items needed.

Flagler Humane Society asks that owners download the paperwork needed for intake prior to arriving at the emergency shelter to cut down on intake process.

Owners should notify the humane society if they plan to be at the Special Needs shelter as these animals will be housed in a different location from their owners and arrangements for transportation need to be made.

First Responders will be able to house their personal pets at the humane society and FHS staff will provide care for those pets.
